What is counseling like?
Counseling is a process for you to experience growth and change. We will detail the steps you need to take to work towards the goals we create together for you. Check out our blog article discussing what you can expect to get out of counseling.
How long will it take to see progress?
The length of sessions needed for progress depends on the severity of symptoms, frequency of sessions, and your motivation for change. The average length of time tends to be around 3-6 months of weekly counseling. Gradually the frequency of sessions will be reduced as progress is made.
How much will it cost?
The rates for services are listed on our insurance and rates page. Click here to learn more about our rates.
Can I use my insurance?
It depends on your insurance provider, whether we are on panel with them. If we are not you may still be able to use your out of network benefits. Click here to learn more about insurance.
What do I need to bring to my first session?
A copy of your insurance card, method of payment, questions and ideas for goals.
What will the first session be like?
You will be answering a lot of questions about yourself, your history, symptoms, current struggles, and goals. An assessment will take place and suggestions for treatment and frequency of sessions will be provided. We will collaborate with you to discuss the best course of action. Check out our blog article discussing what you can expect in the first session.
Do you prescribe medication?
We do not have a licensed medical doctor to prescribe medication. A referral will be made for you to meet with a psychiatrist for a medication evaluation.
