I am a licensed mental health counselor with over 20 years of experience. I see all of my clients as deserving the utmost respect and dignity.
What Makes Me Different From Other Counselors?
I strive to share my empathy in getting right in your shoes to feel what you are feeling. This allows me the ability to ask the right questions, and suggest the right tools. My hope is that healing and positive change can happen in our work together. In addition to my clinical work, I enjoy teaching Zumba classes as a Licensed Zumba Instructor.
I graduated with a Master’s degree in Counseling from Fitchburg State University in 2008. I have extensive experience working with teenagers, couples and adults dealing with depression, ADHD, anxiety, trauma, life changes, low self-worth, poor boundary setting, family conflict, and relationship problems.
I have training in CBT, motivational interviewing, solution-focused therapy, and person-centered counseling. Working for Eliot Community Human Services and South Bay has provided me with the opportunity to work with a wide variety of clients. Developing the ability to respond quickly and effectively during a crisis, learning when to make appropriate referrals, and helping clients in difficult situations are all skills I am proficient in.
Working with mentally challenged children and adults is a specialty I have developed with the years of experience obtained in the SPED program at Westford Public Schools and in the residential program at SMOC. Aiding in the development of IEP plans, behavior programs, and helping students make transitions are services I can provide assistance with.
